Dalvay by the Sea was a stunning venue for our wedding. The picturesque location and excellent facilities made our experience memorable. While the staff was professional and generally caring, they seemed to be struggling with a few operational hiccups. The dining was exquisite but could use some variety in the breakfast offerings. Overall, it's a charming and beautiful spot but not perfect in some aspects.

The honeymoon suite was cozy with a fantastic view of the lake, making it a lovely getaway. However, some of the rooms felt a bit cramped and in need of better maintenance.

The restaurant served inspired dishes that were nothing short of superb. However, the breakfast could benefit from more options, as it felt limited during our stay.

The hotel had lovely communal areas and was well-maintained, but some rooms were lacking amenities. Despite that, the overall facilities felt quite charming.

My stay at Dalvay by the Sea was truly a delightful escape. The location is splendid, nestled in the National Park with easy access to stunning beaches and scenic walking trails. The cozy ambiance with its fireplaces was charming, although I felt the rooms could use some updates and cleanliness improvements. The service was warm, but there were moments of concern about staffing issues. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I would recommend it, especially for families or couples looking for a quaint getaway.

I only enjoyed a glass of wine by the fireplace, but the dining environment was lovely, and the food appeared delightful, though I didn't get to experience it fully.

Our stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The property is beautifully historic, and I loved the cozy ambiance created by the fireplaces. However, our room was unexpectedly small and not very clean, which was disappointing for the price. The dining service was slow with limited vegetarian options, although the views from the hotel were lovely. Overall, I enjoyed the character of the hotel but found the service lacking.

The room was much smaller than advertised and had cobwebs and dust above the bed, which led to a less than satisfactory experience.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the historic charm and stunning dining view were highlights, the noise in our room and cleanliness issues were disappointing. The dining was a treat, especially the halibut for dinner, but the price felt steep. Overall, it has great potential, especially for those who love a beautiful environment.

Rooms

Our room was not clean and quite noisy. We could hear conversations from downstairs and footsteps from above, which made it hard to sleep.
Service

The manager was very understanding and waived the cancellation policy for us, which I appreciated.
Location

Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, especially the halibut with lobster risotto, though breakfast felt a bit overpriced.

6.6/10

My stay at this hotel was a mix of highlights and drawbacks. The historic charm of the building is truly memorable, and the common areas are beautifully designed. However, the small and hot room with limited amenities left much to desire. The dining experience was excellent, especially with delicious breakfast options, but the overall service could use a bit more warmth.

Rooms
5.0
The room was rather small and oppressively hot, despite the noisy air conditioning unit and fan. It could benefit from better ventilation and more outlets.
Service
5.0
While the service was acceptable, I found the manager to be unhelpful and somewhat dour, which detracted from the experience.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, with a short walk to the beach and beautiful views of the lake. The grounds are lovely for relaxing or enjoying some time outdoors.
Dining
8.0
Breakfast was excellent, with a standout eggs benedict. The dinner menu, while limited, offered good quality food at a reasonable price.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had charming facilities, but the kayaks and paddle boats were not well maintained. The grand lounges and fireplaces are wonderful features.
